Purchased this unit for a 550 sq foot well insulated shop the buying experience was good, shipping was quick,and service has been good but I have been unable to get this to cool the room down to 77. Air Conditioning heat load calculator said this should have been more than enough. WiFi works good and has some nice features ANSWER: Thanks for your review and constrictive criticism. The heat load calculations for any given space can only be performed by an HVAC engineer. Under normal circumstances this system should be sufficient for the described area. If you have additional heat loads, that may be the problem. We need 2 data points to tell you what the issue could be. a. Operating pressure of the refrigerant when the compressor is running at Full Speed (System set to COOL, Fan set to HIGH), temp set to 62F). And we also need to know the net temperature difference between return air from the top and supply air from the bottom of the indoor unit. IF the system is overcharged for any reason, the compressor will run at slow speeds with less capacity to protect the system from developing high pressures. That could easily be the reason as well. Let's keep in contact and we will get to the bottom of your problem.

I installed this unit in my 12x24 shed that I converted into my office with insulation and drywall.. I've been using a few fans, a portable A/C unit and a swamp cooler, trying to keep my office cool. The best I could do was 84 degrees when the temp outside was 110 degrees. Installing this unit was the best decision I made. My office is now plenty cool (I had it steady at 68 degrees this last Saturday while temps outside were 105 degrees). Installation was straight forward and relatively easy. I have a friend who does AC work and he bent, cut and flared the line set, and pulled the vacuum for me with me as his grunt. Took us less than 5 hrs to do the install and now I'm sitting pretty.

Performance Quality Price 18000btu unit installed in my 450ft garage in SE Florida. I turn it on from work via the WiFi dongle and it's 70 by the time I get home. Replaced the diff oil in my car, then proceeded to buff and wax the vehicle all day Saturday....never broke a sweat (95 and high humidity on the other side of the garage door). Cools my garage from 90 To 70 in 15-20 minutes.

I have two pioneers so far 18,000 / 9000 BTU, even with this seer level, it's a low cost to operate . The 15 -17 seer units draw more humidity from the house which can be just as good as cooling . My 9000 btu 22 seer in the bedroom is super quiet , with the timer and temp display as night light is perfect to make sticky weather comfortable . Higher seer units just have more cooling fins on the indoor unit . Either unit takes 90 degree room to 70 in less than 15 minutes with a proper sized unit for the space . I would recommend them to everyone , the older we get the less we tolerate heat / humidity .
