Ordering direct worked out to actually be a better price than Amazon and able to get other lengths of tubing, so worked out well for me. Seems to be well built. If you have moderate handyman skills you should be able to complete install up to final hook up and charge test, but I'd recommend having an HVAC tech do the final pressure test and charge check unless you have the equipment and are familiar with it. I had some concerns about over tightening fittings and as a result didn't tighten enough so I had some air leakage that the tech caught. Install instructions could be a tad clearer with more detail, but were generally ok to follow.

I have a large bedroom over the garage and it was taxing my second geothermal until tremendously. The unit would run nonstop during peak summer heat days and would still reach 78 to 79 degrees. This unit is quiet as a church mouse and isn’t challenged at all keeping the room a steady temperature wherever I want to set it. The room is very comfortable and the savings in my electric bill will pay me back for this unit in less than 12 months. I’m a very handy diy’er but I paid the pros to install this and glad I did. I took two of them about 5 hours to install it and run the electrical. $1,300 well spent even for this handy miser. Only regret is I didn’t do this sooner.

I installed this to replace an old struggling window unit. This was for a studio apartment below our house in Galveston, TX - super humid and quite warm in the summer. I did the physical install myself - not too difficult. The hardest part was very very carefully bending the copper tubing to get it in place. Take your time and it's not bad. A professional AC guy came out to flush the system, check for leaks, pull a vacuum, an to release the Freon. I'm happy with that decision because it gave me confidence that the unit was installed correctly. I would recommend doing that. The system works very well. It's quiet and efficient. And the amount of water (humidity) it pulls out of the room is amazing. That may be the most valuable thing. Very happy with the purchase.

I bought four units last year, 3- 18K and one 12K, all are working flawlessly. One problem, I brought on myself last year, was breaking some of the fan blades on the squirrel cage fan that runs across the inside of the indoor cooling unit (stupid me, I was testing the output cool air temp. with a metal probe thermometer and I ran the darned thing right into the fan), I contacted Hiseer about my dumb mistake and they sent me a replacement fan FREE!! They have EXECELLENT customer service. The wall unit has had a little noise and vibration since I broke some of the vanes out causing an imbalance, so today I finally decided to install the new blower fan. Here is what I learned: Plan on cleaning the squirrel cage fan at least yearly, they get VERY clogged up with dust, etc., this is best accomplished by removing the plastic skins that cover the unit, check out the service manual on how this is done, really not too difficult to do. Also the outdoor units will need some cleaning at least once a year. These units are very well designed and not bad to work on at all if you have to get into them for some type of repair. COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASE WITH MY PIONEER SYSTEMS!!!!

I have two of these units going on 3 years now. I live in the northeast and they perform great! With the exception of January and February, I use them constantly. Great product, easy install and energy efficient.

This is our second summer. Unit is awesome. Cools home quickly and is extremely quiet. It's right next to TV and do not need to change volume when its on. Price was so much lower than the competition. Customer service was very helpful when we had questions installing and operating. Highly recommend.

I bought this 18,000btu unit 1 year ago for our Bonus room above the garage that the central unit could not keep cool!!! Down stairs would be set on 72 degrees but it would be 80+ up there. Now we can keep this room cool for the Grandkids when they come over to stay!!!

Purchased this, did my own install!!!!! I love this unit!!!!! I mounted it at the end of a hallway, center of the house, it keeps the house comfortable. It is 100 degrees today and the house is 72 with 35% humidity. My house is 1200 sq ft. In the cold of winter 17 degrees outside we were still toasty. We did use auxiliary heat but not much. I have saved money with this unit, and the air quality in my home is much better. I strongly recommend this unit to anyone who wants to save money. If you worry about problems with the unit,dont,. The only problem I had was I didn't get the drain line installed properly, my fault,. After correcting that all I do is enjoy quiet energy efficient, heating and cooling. Please consider this as your purchase.

I purchased this unit because my heat pump just does not keep my living area warm or mostly cool. It took me 5 hours to install the system and it is working far better than my expectations. Quiet and I am so comfortable with the cooling . I hope the heating mode works just as well. This thing is fantastic !
