Laura was tired of carrying all of Scott’s gadgets in her bags and Scott’s traditional pockets couldn’t carry everything he needed...and a man purse was out of the question. Scott had a brilliant idea: he would create a modified fisherman’s vest but with extra pockets, enough to hold all of his essentials but still stylish enough to wear out around town.

The company has now evolved into an international business, with a full line of men’s and women’s vests, jackets, pullovers, hoodies, shirts, dresses, underwear, pajamas and pants; all designed to strategically hold and organize your personal belongings so whatever you need is always on hand.

It would be helpful if the zipper pulls had a hole so that a pull tab could be attached. Sometimes it's hard to get a andle on the zipper pull. The same is true of the vests.

I've had my old SCOTTeVEST for well over a decade and it has been my absolute favorite coat/vest of all time. However, it was time to replace old faithful. When I got the new version I was so happy to see the improvements that were made: a) larger front pockets in addition to the pockets you put your hands in [easier to put tablets and other larger than wallet-sized items that come in very handy when travelling]; b) getting rid of the snap button in the back pocket [never was necessary]; c) making it possible to be either right or left handed for the phone pockets; d) changing the plastic see-through for mesh see-through pockets [the plastic just deteriorated over time]; e) getting rid of the small pocket on the left sleeve up near the shoulder [with my shoulder problem, never could reach that pocket comfortably]; f) getting rid of the hood stuffed into the collar [detracted from the look of the coat]; and g) increasing the size of several of the inside pockets [more room is always appreciated]. However, the new SCOTTeVEST has all the quality details and feel of durability that old one had. I am sure that this coat/vest, too, will be my new faithful companion for more than the next decade to come and I am looking forward to wearing it immensely.
Why SCOTTeVEST?
I've had one for well over a decade and simply love the versatility and durability of it. So, when it finally was necessary to replace the old one, naturally had to go for a new one.

I have no suggestions here. The product and the website shopping experience are all great.

It is the one coat/vest that regardless of the time of year or temperature, I can wear it comfortably during air travel, plus I can stow all that I need when I travel (whether by air or otherwise).

With this jacket there are no need to limit the number of things I carry because there are plenty of pockets for everything! I love that pockets are discreet and honestly, you can’t notice most of them!

I originally purchased a vest for my husband 6 years ago. He’s worn it EVERY day. It only just recently needed to have a zipper replaced. So I figured I’d buy him this jacket as a replacement. His favorite vest only better!

Jacket is now an essential part of my wardrobe as I am able to carry all of my necessary electronics all in one place. Makes it very easy to take off and put through x-ray security at the airport, so that I don’t have to worry about losing anything.

While attempting product improvement don't make it worse by canceling what works well. Also the description of product is not informing about what the fabric is and the dimensions of any pockets or the length. The buy it to find out what it is policy doesn't work well.

It's the only thing like it available, but it's still super expensive for what it is. One thing that I would change would be make more individual pockets in the large outside front pockets. Just two large caverns isn't terribly useful.
