We installed 3 units in an older farm house that previously was heated by a wood and gas heaters. Duct work had never been installed. These work perfectly for heat & cooling of our home. They were affordable to buy & install. So far our electric bill isn’t outrageous. I would recommend these Mini-split units for home, shop or she shed.

I am very impressed with the overall performance of this unit. It has some unusual requirements for its installation, so I would recommend you get a professional to guide the technical aspects where questions arise. I had a friend in the industry come over for "the" big day. He had a really good vacuum pump and micron gauge that were super-important, plus his experience with the special flaring and the sealant helped a ton. He actually missed the correct tabs during the install. The hole through the wall marking was a little off, so it took a lot of adjusting to get the inside unit clipped in. The clips on the inside are just not well-designed, so the unit's plastic case bulges down in 2 spots. The outside unit went well. I found out 2 things of note: 1) they send one roll of tape for free, and 2 are needed. The 2nd roll of tape is a slightly different color and type. 2) the condensate discharge from the indoor unit can plug right into 1/2 inch PVC conduit, so I ran a stick of that all the way down the wall and put an angle at the bottom to drip it into a flower bed. Since my unit was on a second floor and I ran power up the wall in the same conduit, it looks pretty good like that with 2 gray pipes running parallel. Now I set mine away from the wall to keep things quiet inside. But this outside unit is very quiet except in the least-likely mode: turbo. Yeah, I made an elaborate platform for it on my second floor porch, but it can be installed in a more traditional way if you have the room. I did a lot of preliminary work while waiting for this to arrive during a summer busy time and a pandemic, but it gave me time to obtain electric of my preference, 230 VAC and plan out the locations. I even found an error in one of the Pioneer brochures ... which they corrected. That was important, because it covered the breaker size ... 15 A is needed, not the 20 amp breaker listed in one of the brochures. Be sure you get the Freon adapter and keep it... your HVAC guy will need it whenever he works on the system.

Their service department is quick to answer the phone and pretty reliable. I had a few calls to make ... correcting their brochure was one reason. I wish their shipping choice was faster ... I was pretty remote, which made the final leg a bit of a challenge, especially when I tracked my delivery around 4:00 pm the scheduled day of delivery, only to watch it traveling away from me. I eventually got it but the box had a bit of some damage. Nothing inside was affected, thankfully. This small of an item could be shipped with one of the major carriers, but they like to use freight, so be it. I might as well say that it was a bit slow and unreliable: delivering wasn't on-time and the cardboard was damaged. I ended up having to drive 15 minutes to go get it at a gas station the day after it was scheduled. The driver had to retreat due to a long day. But I agreed of course because the shipper had warned me about long days and the driver asked to meet me. I got it much later than their website's time says, but I am supposed to be okay with it due to 2020's worst excuse for an excuse: a few people, somewhere, in some statistical porridge, are sick with a new disease that has everyone scared and forcing them to ... make excuses.

runs great, no issues. Solid deal would recommend to anyone. i monitor all the rooms and this one is not quite as stable as a Mitsu one that i have, otherwise would have given it a 5.

Buying and installing the mini split was super easy. It was delivered within a week. Paid a HVAC guy $150 to hook up the lines and pull a vacuum. This is the best way to buy a mini split.

I found installing the AC to be easier to install than I thought it would be. The only problem I had was connecting the blue and yellow gauge hoses to the single gauge. I was able to get them corrected by looking at the picture in the advertisement. The instruction pictures were for double gauges.
