I really like the unit, it cools my upstairs bedroom fairly well, could use a little more "oomph" but adequate. (I have the 17 seer for a 250 sqft room, granted it faces south so it's a fairly decent task to ask. The installation was not as easy as advertised... If I were to install it again, it would go much better from the learnings I had. Tips: 1. Whatever you do, do your best to have hoses exit on the RIGHT (same side as it's attached). The directions (and tech support) say you can exit on the left by running the hoses behind the unit but that caused some major headaches- getting the hoses to do a second 90 degree bend back out (didn't quite work) and second I now have condensation issues where the connection point is because it is in the house behind the unit instead of being in the wall. 2. The instructions are a little backward when it comes to the vacuuming of the air out. Follow what the manifold says about what "open" means to check the internal pressure of the hose. 3. The drain hose needs to exit on the same side as the hole in the wall (tech support said it was okay), running it from the right to the left doesn't work, there is not enough room behind the unit not allowing it to latch. (Again, see Tip #1) Overall, I like it and would purchase it again, just wish I had been better prepared, hind sight is 20/20.

I recently purchased a 12000 220 v unit. I'm very impressed with the completeness of the kit. Literally everything but the high voltage is included. Instructions are clear and install is well within a do it yourselfers abilities. I'm pleased with this purchase and it's working great.

I live in the Finger Lakes region of NY and retired after 45 years in the HVACR business. I am planning to buy another WYS-17 unit in the future. The factory should make 3 improvements. One is that the small tube of the line set is 4 inches too long when connecting to the indoor unit -I reused the factory flare and shortened it about a foot back and soldered back together using a coupling. The second improvement is an easy fix. When mounting the outdoor unit, use taller rubber mounts. This is because the drain fitting sits on the slab and the unit "teeter-totters". The third item I would call optional . Frozen ground in the winter can shift and crack concrete so before I poured a 6 inch thick slab, I made a contraption that had the 4 long bolts attached to it. I put this down before I poured the slab so in the end, I had four 1 1/2" of 3/8' threaded rods protruding from the finished concrete. I wish they sold such a contraption because it took a while to make so it would match up to the mounting holes (and should keep the slab from cracking)

I bought a 12k BTU 17.5 SEER unit thru High Seer (via Amazon) back in mid-2016. Did a self-install; first time doing a mini-split system. Was a little nervous about getting it right (& voiding the warranty) but figured it was worth the risk versus paying an absurd premium to an HVAC company. All went well; thus far, the unit has run flawlessly (we are in the central FL area so use it most of the year for AC/cooling with the heat pump occassionally during the winter if/when we actually get some cold weather). We have a 3-ton packaged HVAC unit (Rheem) central air system we use for the main house but this Pioneer is just to augment on really hot days. I couldn't be happier! As others have mentioned, the unit is extremely quiet (inside & out) & can easily run off our generator when we get a hurricane/power outage...our 220v system draws about 400-500watts when running in cooling mode. Planning to purchase another 12k (or maybe 18k) unit for our guest house soon.

I finished off a 650 SqFt space. This unit was installed by a pro. He said "don't buy it. You get what you pay for. blah blah blah." After he installed it, he said, "Damn they're going to put the brands out of business" this things is the real deal. It's plenty big, well made, easy to install and ready to go." It was installed and functional in 5 hours. I bought all the extension kits from Pioneer so we have everything but the pad ready to go. Should have bought that too. HD doesn't carry it - special order. All in all, I will likely buy another one for my workshop.

I installed a 12,000 BTU ductless mini split unit in my house of a thousand square feet and it keeps the entire house cool and my electric bill has not gone up at all.It is very quite. I would buy another one. Also customer service was very helpful when I installed it. Steve Schmidt Asheville NC.

Purchased to cool the bedroom which is so far away from our old AC air handler unit it barley ever got cool. The installation instructions were a little vague in places but overall very comprehensive. The lineset from the indoor unit gave me a real headache as my walls are about 1 foot thick meaning that the low side flare fitting was slightly inside the wall. A $20 hardware store run got me a 90 degree flare fitting and all was well. So far it has worked flawlessly and a miracle occurred, the wife said it was too cold!! The one downside is that as I installed it myself there's no warranty. I shall be ordering another for my living room and then retiring my old noisy, expensive to run ducted system

In the last month I have installed a 12,000 and 18,000 BTU unit. Both working just fine, at this time, very quiet and the output air is very nice and cool. 3 important points: 1. Flare nuts on the line sets are sort of odd-ball sizes, I bought a set of crow-foot wrenches for my torque wrench and used a grinder on two of the wrenches to get a good fit on the nuts. 2. I spent a lot of time trying to get a good low vacuum and had a terrible time, all the fault of the "new" cheap pump I was using. I bought another cheap pump at Harbor Freight yesterday, it is the two stage item No. 60805. It worked great this morning I was able to pull my vacuum down to 45 microns... 3. After I got the units running I checked the current they draw. It's kind of interesting, the 120 volt 12000 unit draws about four amps. the 18000 unit at 240 volts is pulling 3.5 amps. Making 480 watts for the 12000 btu unit vs. 840 watts for the 18000 btu unit. I might be wrong in my figuring but it looks like the 12000btu unit is more efficient. Right now all works great, keep your filters clean and put a little bleach in the condensate drain pan every few months and all should be good. I'm going for another 18000 btu unit for the upstairs in a couple of months.

WE OWN A 1000 SQ FT HOME THAT HAS HOT WATER HEAT, USED A 12000 WINDOW AIR CONDITIONER. I PURCHASED THIS A/C AND INSTALLED IT MYSELF, WITH THE HELPS OF YOUR TECHNICIANS, IT WAS PRETTY EASY. I HAD A HVAC EVALUATE THE LINE SET. WORKS GREATT AND DOES COOL THE HOUSE. ALSO, I INSTALLED THE AIR SHARE VENTILATOR IN EACH BEDROOM BECAUSE WHEN YOU CLOSE THE DOOR, THE COOL AIR CONTINUES TO FLOW.... VERY PLEASED....

I have just finished installing my 3rd and 4th Pioneer 12,000 btu Mini Split systems,3 at my home and 1 at my daughters home. I am going to do 1 more at my home, that will make 1 in each bedroom and a 24,000 btu in the living area. These 12,000 btu systems have performed perfectly so for. They are exceptionally quite inside and outside and cool the rooms perfectly. I live in south Texas where 100 degree days are the normal in the summer time, yesterday Mar. 31 it was 89 degrees here and we are already using them. I run the 2 ton in the living area during the day and the 1 ton units at night in the bedrooms, I am sure that my utility bill will be much lower now. They are easy to install if you have any knowledge of how these systems work, the most important thing is to get the line set leak tight and vacuum them good before you open up the gas valves. Time will tell how well they will hold up, but for now Im very happy

These are excellent. I bought two for my house which has a slab floor, causing problems with any other installation. The units went in easily and have worked flawlessly for 6 months now.

Excellent design, quality product, highly recommend. To start we are using it for supplemental heating in New England, provides excellent coverage, we need a fan to move the heat throughout the coverage area and works great. Looking forward to its performance to use it for ac cooling, bottom line has excellent coverage, quality product, competitive features, and excellent customer support! Very curious of actual operating cost - hope its as advertised?
