But soon enough, the inevitable happened: Friends wanted a rope hammock as good as the one he’d made for himself, and then it was friends of friends, and then folks Cap’n Josh didn’t know at all. In no time, family members were pitching in to help him meet the increasing demand. Jump forward just a few decades, and the Original Pawleys Island Rope Hammock had already become the standard by which other rope hammocks were being measured. Today, we get machine assistance with a few production processes, such as rope-making and woodcutting, to capture the precision required. At Pawleys Island, we don’t view the human part of the process merely as important; we regard it as essential. Handcrafting is who we are.

Rope is untwisting at the ends. Not what I expected from Pawleys island hammock. Customer service is horrible. If you ever try to reach them. I have called several times, left a message, nobody has responded yet.....

We just received our first Pawley’s Island hammock. It is exactly as advertised. The quality is superb and the hammock is extremely comfortable. We spent the entire afternoon in our hammock when we first received it. Our grandchildren have piled in and love it as well! It arrived on time and in excellent condition. We could not be more pleased. We will now be loyal Pawley’s Island customers in the future. Outstanding buy!!!

This is my Third Pawley's Island hammock. Well its actually for my daughter. But I love them! The Duracord is a great addition to their line. Lasts much longer when outside.

I absolutely love both my hammock and pillow. I couldn’t decide which product to order so I called and the expert assistance I received in asking relevant questions to help narrow down my preferences allowed me to order the perfect hammock! Great quality! Stretches out a lot in the first week of use, which was a good thing because when we got it it didn’t fit our 15 ft hammock stand! We needed to add some more chains to get it to fit. After about a week it had stretched out enough that we were able to get it to fit with the chains provided. This is our first hammock, so we can’t really compare, but so far so good!

Once I learned that we were WFH all summer I immediately purchased this hammock. It has already brought me so much relaxation and joy. It is well made, fitting both me and my husband (and our two dogs join us!). It is comfortable even without a pillow. I've left it outside for nearly a month and it has not appeared to get dirty. It will stay damp for a few hours after rain but generally dries quickly. I am very happy with my purchase and hope it remains durable for many years.
