The head of the cane is almost too big, but it will make a great nob nocker! Which is the main reason I purchased it! I had to shorten it by 3 inches and add a larger cane tip, so it was the right size for me.

It's made of composite material, not wood. I was searching 'wood' when I bought it. Obviously, not what I was interested in. Also, I'm 5'9", yet it seems a bit short for practical use.

The Irish Selleighla is made of composite. I would not have ordered it if I knew that, I was looking for a wood product. Also, I'm average height for an American male - 5' 9" - and the cane seems a bit short. So I'm stuck with it. (Yeah-yeah, return it, shipping and handling, huge hassle, extra cost, perhaps some store credit - not interested).

This is a well made cane. It is light and supportive enough, plus draws a bit of attention at the VA. I will eventually purchase an actual blackthorn cane as this one is a bit more fake looking than expected
