I love this coat as it is great for this spring weather. I have to learn how to use the pockets and remember where I put things! I only wish the zipper can upzip from the bottom as sitting in my car or subway feels like I'm pushing the front of the coat up to my chin.

The coat is very heavy. I thought it was more a rain coat when I bought for my adult daughter. If you need a warm one this is it. She's quite short so we had to get sleeves shortened..

Love, love, love this coat! The only changes I would recommend is 1) that the main zipper for the coat should be a two-way zipper, so you'd have more room in the hips when you sit in the car and drive. 2) there should be more options in colors like Navy and Beige. I'd definitely buy a second coat for spring if they came in these colors.

I love the coat. Still, there are a couple of things I would like to see changed/added. Change the size of the cellphone pockets. The pockets for the cel phone are too short for the larger size phones. The large phones stick above the velcro closure and cannot be sealed in. I'd say they could be a little wider also, but the width is not really a problem. I have the ScotteVest Women's Standard Jacket, which appears to have pockets about the same size as the Penny Coat. While on vacation last fall, I bent over when my Standard Coat was unzipped and, unbeknownst to me, the phone slipped out. It was pure luck that I recovered the phone. Since I received my new Penny Coat, I've sewed an extension flap (with a strip of the soft part of a velcro strip) onto the top of one of the cellphone pockets. It folds over the cellphone and secures the phone inside the pocket. This really needs to be addressed. I'm sure there are those who might disagree with me, but the velcro inside some of the pockets that serves to divide the pockets into two distinct areas DRIVES ME CRAZY. I'd like to see it gone. I'll probably cover the hook part of the velcro to prevent it from sticking to the soft part. In addition, it would be nice to be able to unzip the sleeves. The cut around the Standard Jacke'ts shoulder (which has the detachable sleeves) I find to be very fashionable I know this would add to the cost, but it would be worth it to me. Actually, it sounds like I don't like the coat, but I really love it. It's warm, water proof, covers my bottom when I'm on a bike ride, and has a great detachable hood for sudden showers. Most of all, it has ALL THOSE POCKETS!

This was a replacement for the trench coat which didn't fit right (cost me $13 to send it back). The Penny Coat arrived quickly. The fabric and front zipper were very nice. I ordered a size L based on the size chart, and when it arrived it was MUCH too large EVERYWHERE (the trench coat, also a size L had been too tight in the bust only, and giant everywhere else). So the Penny Coat and the Trench Coat are cut completely differently, even though the SAME size chart is used for the two coats. So, I called and am exchanging it for a size M Penny Coat (fortunately they are absorbing the return shipping this time). I think the zipper is much more practical to quickly access the inside pockets. Unfortunately the Penny Coat currently only comes in black. The coat weighs more than I would like it to, and is a reasonably heavyweight coat, more for winter per the helpful person on the phone. However in my opinion, it is not nearly as warm as a down coat (even a packable featherweight one). Also I wish ScotteVest made a longer spring/fall coat in colors (like the length of the Penny Coat) since many of us older women wear tunics which look bad sticking out at the bottom of a coat. The blue and red colors of the trench I had ordered in the first place would be great choices. Looking forward to receiving my exchange of the Penny Coat in a size M.

I am 5'6" and I like my clothes to fit looses. The x-large fits great with the exception of the arms being a little long, tho not enough to return. I got it for cold Michigan winters and it is doing the job. I am still getting used to pockets rather than purse. It is very well made and the pockets are strong. I am very satisfied.

This is a great coat. I usually buy a large in vest and jacket from Scottevest so that I can load up the pockets without looking like a have stuffed pockets. I decided to go to XL in the Penny so I can fit sweaters and layers underneath. Wrongo in the Congo. Way too big. Sold it to a friend who takes ML size. Ordered Large which is generous in sleeves and underarm to fit sweaters and layers with vest. Medium would have fit fine but would show stuffed pockets. Sleeves are a bit long. But I like it that way for cold weather. It is fully lined to keep in warmth which also adds weight. Hood is handy in rain. I do wish they had put the RFID in the travel doc pocket as I bought this jacket for traveling. Length is good for me 3" above knee. 5'4" 150# I have a Stirling Jacket which I travel with all the time however for winter travel I needed something heavier and water proof with hood. The Penny meets that need.
