Ths is my 2nd standalone ice maker, this one is much faster and better than the polar Ice, produces 12 cubes in about 12 minutes at a time, my family uses a lot of ice on a daily basis, the ice maker in the fridge only produces 8 cubes every 45 minutes and we were always out of ice, not any more.

Does everything I wanted. Easy to use. Makes tons of ice cubes. Great for lake home!

3 Years ago I bought this unit because I had a fridge that had no ice maker. This past Christmas my 5 year old, over priced. fridge quit. This little ice maker kept all my food cold over a week until I decided to get another fridge I hope everyone interested in this product reads this Thank you for a great product

That said, I would also like to be able to do an update on how this unit is functioning in the future. (Is it still functioning after 6 months to a year?) It's not fair to rave about a product that has only been used a couple of times. But, at this time, I'M LOVIN' IT!!!

I was skeptical of buying an ice maker that was portable and not built in. I did my homework though and compared built in ice makers to ice makers that are portable and decided on the portable one. This one got great ratings and I can see why, it really puts out the ice. It puts out so much ice over a day, I have to turn it off and not make ice. We have two refrigerators that make ice but can't keep up with our summer demand for ice so I purchased this machine. Between the two refrigerators, they make in 3 days what I can make in half a day. Now, I have bags and bags of ice stocked up and I won't run out because as soon as the supply gets low, I make more. I love it! The machine is a bit large and storing it could be an issue but I won't complain about that as long as I have nice chilled beverages all day long.

I was skeptical of buying an ice maker that was portable and not built in. I did my homework though and compared built in ice makers to ice makers that are portable and decided on the portable one. I purchased this product to provide ice during my annual three week camping trip at a cabin. I tested this ice maker, and it seems like it will satisfy my desire to eliminate going to the store every day to buy ice to keep my beer and soda cold.J

When we opened the box we noticed 3 screws loose in the bottom of the box. I tried to replace them in the bottom cover but the holes were stripped and they will not stay in. Also, I would have liked to see a better engineered system for emptying the unit if not all the water is used for ice making. Now, you either move it to the edge of the counter and hold a bucket under it or place it besides a sink so it can drain. If they could have installed a valve so you could hook a small plastic hose to drain, it would be a lot more convenient. This way we have to physically move the machine every time we want to drain excess water, which needs to be done after each use, as per manual. My suggestion is to check where you intend on placing the machine (close to drain) before purchasing.
