My city water smells like a swimming pool with all the chlorine that's in it. We've used other decanters in the past but all were plastic. In searching for a non-plastic option I found this one. I love it! The filter does truly last all year, it makes my water taste great and it's very attractive. Once you get the handle of timing it out, you can make sure you're never out of water. The only time the slow filter bothers me is when I'm trying to make a large pot of soup and I have to wait, but other than that, I fill it a bit every other time I use it and I always have plenty. The other big plus for me is that it doesn't filter out the minerals and everything else. My husband used another brand that over purifies and that water tastes very "empty." I've had this filter for over 2 years now and it looks brand new as well.

You can't beat this price and quality. The fact it is gravity lead is a huge plus when your power goes out, which has recently occurs here in Texas. Only down size is the size. Any plans to produce larger capacity ones? I love this style far more than the competitor!

So glad I bought this filter. We have had it for 4months now and really love how the water tastes and that it removes most chlorine and metals. You do need to stay on top of filling it up as you use it but its worth it!

Context: I've had this decanter for about 1.5 years. This morning I noticed rust on the inner rim of the decanter and serious paint chipping. Spoke with a customer service agent and they told me they couldn't help me because it's been over a year (their warranty period.) First the agent said the chipped paint won't affect the decanter. Well, sure if you don't mind chipped paint sitting in your drinking water. Secondly, I was told that it's not rust, but merely discoloration. How interesting - rust colored "discoloration." Didn't offer any additional help nor exchange of any kind - and on top of that, I've been buying their expensive filters which are now useless since I'm wary of using a rusty decanter. For a company that prides itself on "healthy home solutions" and durability, I am highly doubtful of the quality of materials they use. Now I need to find an actual stainless steel filtering system.

The filter worked well for me for a few weeks, but then the flow became very slow. I emailed customer service and they said I'll likely need to change the filter more often- every 2 to 3 months. I'm on city water without sediment so I'm not sure why the filter clogs so quickly. For the price of the filter, I'm not keen on the idea if having to replace it every 3 months.
We are sorry to hear your filters are not lasting as long as anticipated. There is a direct correlation between the filtration speed and longevity and the source water. If you would like to give us a call, we may be able to provide some tips.

Why Trust Verified Reviews?
Verified Reviews are real, authentic reviews collected from actual paying customers, using Shopper Approved's Verified Review Platform. When reviews are Verified by Shopper Approved, you know that you can trust them to make better buying decisions.
Unverified Reviews on the other hand, are reviews collected by Open Review platforms that allow anyone to leave a review, without any validation or proof of purchase. Unfortunately, most reviews you read online are Unverified Reviews, and can't be trusted.
As a consumer, here's how you can tell the difference:
Verified Reviews from Verified Review Platforms like Shopper Approved, have much higher review counts and higher overall Star ratings, because they attempt to collect reviews from every single paying customer.
Unverified reviews from Open Review Platforms, tend to have much lower review counts and more negative Star ratings, because people with bad experiences are primarily those who leave reviews. This often creates a misleading, inaccurate portrayal of a companies true reputation.
So, when searching for Verified Reviews, look for the name you know you can trust. Shopper Approved.
