I always loved my Salomon kicks. Fit like a glove, Goretex but still breathable, Kevlar lacing system that rocks, the whole package. Now it's in a color that really rocks, thank you Salomon, thank you U.S. Elite!!

Quality is second to none! I have few pair of various Salomon boots and shoes which have held up like nothing else. I love them and hate them at the same time. I cant figure out how the engineers at Salomon can produce such a fantastic product but limit them to people with narrow feet.. It takes several weeks of sheer pain for them to stretch enough to where my feet dont hurt.. I have read so many reviews complaining of the same problem yet we never see wide sizes available. Seems like if you put so much effort into developing a great product, why would you not make it available for everyone! Get with the program Salomon, listen to your customers or loose them.

Bill, thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. Please see the reply I just made to 36 (fellow end user who posted a review expressing frustration with the lack of wide sizes from Salomon). As I said to him, I would be very pleased to work together to crowdfund new, wide lasts from Salomon. Until then, we invested a large amount of cash, with an uncertain return, based on current realities at Salomon. Which means using their existing lasts, which as you stated, aren't made for the pedagogically girthfully-endowed.

I've always liked Salomons. If this shoe came in a wide size, I'd snatch it up post haste.

I want to like a Salomon products, in fact I have bought their boots in the past and they have held up great. My biggest issue is that they need wide sizes. I cannot buy Solomon anymore until they come out with WIDEs.

36, appreciate your taking the time to give us feedback. I understand your frustration with a lack of wide sizes for Salomons. Yes, they're based in the French Alps, where most folks have feet on the less-wide side.
May I infer from your tag name that you're pretty numerate? This is a special project we initiated with Salomon. We used the lasts that they have already developed. We did ask about including wide, and extra large sizes in this run, but to do that we would have had to create new lasts. And this project is already a considerable investment of our cash - and a large risk, if it goes South - so to create new lasts would not be realistic.
If you want to get involved in crowdfunding wide lasts for a special run, I'm all about it! Seriously, I think that would be really interesting - we could please the Widers of the World, and take some risk out of the equation for us. In the meantime, it would be awesome if you'd rate the footwear on its own merit, given Salomon constraints and realities. 'Cause from an outsider's perspective, all they see is you're rating a one-star, on a really important project for us that we're taking a lot of risk and blazing a trail. And after all, it really is badass, awesome footwear. Just not for folks with wide feet.
