I was nervous about getting the wattage recommended for my area because it was less than the poor performing different brand I was replacing, but it has worked amazingly well, keeping the whole water trough ice free even on the days we had some negative temperatures.
The puffy white thing under the rim keeps it floating nicely, not like my old type that would tip and bubble out air and then sink. Very happy with this float design. I'm also happy with the clip that came with it that holds the cord next to the trough rim while letting it slide thru as the water level sinks.

I was delighted with my heated petbed. The medium is quite large for a 25lb pup, and the fabric is nice and soft. It heats nicely, and is liked by my pet. The order came quickly, and I would order from KHpet again, not least because they are located in the US.
