goFASTandLIGHT.com is a family owned business, was founded after the owner suffered two broken vertebrae in a 1999 mountain biking accident. After rehabilitation, he tried to go backpacking and discovered that while he felt 99% recovered, his back could not support as much weight. So began the quest for lightweight backpacking gear.
While it was relatively easy to find light tents, packs and sleeping bags, it was more difficult to find lightweight versions of items that go into a backpack - flashlights, cooking gear, fishing poles, and other accessories.
GoFASTandLIGHT.com is dedicated to finding and offering items that are lightweight, do double duty (ex: LED equipped Baseball caps that can be used as headlamps), or are technological leaders in their category, Our focus is on items that go in, on, or around your backpack, tent, and sleeping bag.
We also strive to lighten your load, while not lightening your wallet. We try to find items that are low cost. Anyone can offer an expensive $50 lightweight titanium cutlery set, but if a $4 plastic SPORK is just as light - why not go that way?
