House burned down recently in the Woolsey Fire in Southern California this month, and with little notice I grabbed what I could. Threw on my pair of Speed Assaults because they have no laces to tie, pretty handy when you're being surrounded by fire. The night prior and in the days after I was running around trails in the area and the outer heel tore from your average California brush(I didn't even notice at the time), so I put in a warranty claim. Turns out Salomon doesn't really care about their products after a sale, or their customers. I really wanted to like these, but they're not durable at all. Really disappointing to see their mil-spec FORCES line defeated by a few twigs.

Love just about everything about this boot. It’s light weight and comfortable. You won’t be disappointed but I did want to point out two small minor flaws that I’ve found. One, these would be ten times better if they were available with gortex, but I knew they weren’t when I bought them. Two, when these are laced up, the tongue gets pushed out away from the leg and I’m constantly fixing my pants leg to cover the tongue. I’ve tried a couple different ways to see if I could solve that little problem, but I haven’t found one yet. Oh well, it’s not the end of the world and I’d still by another pair in a heart beat.

I have owned several pairs of Speedcross’s and a couple pairs of Mid GTX’s. The Speedcross Forces (black) do not look right for uniform wear in my opinion so when I found the Assaults I figured I would give them a try. I have been more than happy with the Assaults as they are a perfect blend of the Speedcross and the Mid’s. I have had them for work for 9 months and they have worn very well for my every day duty boot. I will purchase another set when they’re on sale again.

I have never owned a pair of boots that give this amount of both traction and flexibility.

So far, so good. Let's see if it ships in a timely manner.

Very lightweight, flexible & comfortable but only lasted through spring & summer, 6 months of near everyday wear. Sole should be stitched rather than glued, it began to separate quickly. Elastic heel also didn't hold up well.

Great fit, stylish and comfortable. Black for work. Brown for hanging out with friends. Might buy a third pair just for fun.
Why Trust Verified Reviews?
Verified Reviews are real, authentic reviews collected from actual paying customers, using Shopper Approved's Verified Review Platform. When reviews are Verified by Shopper Approved, you know that you can trust them to make better buying decisions.
Unverified Reviews on the other hand, are reviews collected by Open Review platforms that allow anyone to leave a review, without any validation or proof of purchase. Unfortunately, most reviews you read online are Unverified Reviews, and can't be trusted.
As a consumer, here's how you can tell the difference:
Verified Reviews from Verified Review Platforms like Shopper Approved, have much higher review counts and higher overall Star ratings, because they attempt to collect reviews from every single paying customer.
Unverified Reviews from Open Review Platforms, tend to have much lower review counts and more negative Star ratings, because people with bad experiences are primarily those who leave reviews. This often creates a misleading, inaccurate portrayal of a companies true reputation.
So, when searching for Verified Reviews, look for the name you know you can trust. Shopper Approved.
