The water sensors are a great idea and fit on the mats in a designated area in the back. Of the last shipment of 4 mats with 3 water sensors, one sensor didn't work. All the others I have in the house work great. It's worth getting for your mats in case you get a water leak.

We got our first water sensor (this is our second) SIX YEARS AGO when we remodeled our kitchen. It came with the new Xtreme mat that we put under our new kitchen sink, in the bottom of the cabinet. We totally forgot about it, UNTIL…a couple of weeks ago we suddenly heard this loud, shrill alarm sound. At first we couldn’t figure out where it was coming from. Still didn’t remember the water sensor. After walking around for several minutes we realized it was coming from the cabinet under our kitchen sink. A pipe had sprung a small leak. There wasn’t a lot of water, yet, but just enough to set the sensor off, and of course the Xtreme mat had caught the little bit of water that there was. I’m amazed that this sensor still worked after all of these years! The company says to replace them every couple of years, so, wow! For something so small & basic, this thing is impressive! We did recently order a new sensor.

We put our new kitchen in almost 6 years ago, and put one of the Xtreme mats under our kitchen sink, and, one of the little water sensors. Totally forgot that the water sensor was under there! Here we are 6 years later, and there was this weird alarm going off in the house, and it took us to forever to find it! LOL! We finally realized it was that little water sensor that had been under our sink for 6 years. We had just started to have a very small leak from our faucet going down underneath the sink into the bottom cabinet. It was very small and not a lot of water yet, but the water sensor’s sponge detected it, and immediately went off after sitting in there for 6 years. Impressed! Of course, the Xtreme mat also caught the water from the leak.

I'm happy with the sensor. Small and unobtrusive. I'm disappointed that it has a limited life span due to battery life. The battery cannot be changed and the unit must be trashed before the expiration date stamped on the bottom. Not happy about this. A replaceable battery should be available for the price. Plus now I have to remember to replace the units by that date, so a calendar entry is required. This info was not available when purchased.

I love this for the sake of sanity knowing if there is a water link under any sink, I will hear it. However,, I bought 3 and they each have a different volume (can’t adjust), one is rather low. I would prefer them to be louder. Aside from that, great product. I have the mat and it fits perfectly under my kitchen sink

We received one of these water sensors last year when we ordered Xtreme mats to use under all of the sinks in our beach home. We placed it in the drip pan beneath our hot water heater (which is on the second floor of our home). Our son and his family were staying at our house earlier this month when they heard a beeping sound. They tracked it to the hot water heater. When the plumber came, he said the tank was right at the point of failure and could have ruptured. This little water sensor likely saved us from major water damage to our home. THANK YOU!!

In our new home, there was unsightly water damage in the cabinets under two of the six sinks. We purchased Xtreme Mats for all of them for two reasons: to protect the integrity of the cabinets in the event of water leakage and to improve the looks of the two cabinets that had water damage.

I started out with just one of these under my kitchen sink and about a year ago we had a leak and it buzzed loudly so we got on it right away to fix it, So I ordered five more, so now all of my sinks bases are protected from leaks.

This is a neat little gadget that shrieks loudly if water gets on it. I bought the one dollar wash basins from dollar tree and put one of these deals in it for each of my bathroom sinks. You must protect your investment.
