This is an essential item for proper use of the fire pit. The literature does emphasize that, but since it is critical to use it correctly, I would have been happy if it had been sold with the fire pit for one price. Yes it makes the fire pit seem more expensive, but it is more expensive as you have to buy it! That’s ok!

Father's Day gift which I was sure would be late as I ordered it close to Father's Day. It was here in plenty of time! He LOVES it. Went right on the fire pit. Exactly what we were looking for to snuff that fire. Living in the woods, you cannot be TOO careful. Would highly recommend.

The site was very easy to navigate. My only request would be have some of the pictures with people's legs. It would help get an idea of how high off the ground the fire pits are. The measurements listed are fantastic, but it would help us lazier people who don't want to hunt down our measuring tape.

When I recieved my fire pit the snuffer lid was damaged in shipping. I contacted SSfirepits and a replacement was sent out right away with no questions asked. When the replacement snuffer lid arrived it was damaged too, although not as bad. I did not contact customer service again. Seems to me the shipment could have been prepared better to avoid damage.

If you’re getting the fire pit don’t pass on the sniffer to save a little moola. This product will shut your fire off and keep your pit dry. I actually stored some logs in the fire pit and a day after the rain I had dry logs. The best part of this product is the piece of mind when you go to sleep or if you need to leave to go somewhere in a hurry and you can shut the fire down.

It took nearly a month to use the new fire pit (had to build a new area for it). This product is absolutely a must have if you are looking for a fire pit, the size and depth are great. My new area is 12x8 and every seat felt the warm heat. I know the price is high, but I was about to buy a second pit at HD in less than 3 years. A word of advice you should cure it with high temperature oil from your pantry (canola or avocado oil) do it inside as a one time before first use and outside multiple times use a cloth the first fire will be amazing and you will preserve your investment and keep it shining. This fire pit have an amazing heat retention and even seated at 6 ft away it was very warm. The folks at S&S deserve full props for building this masterpiece, I will be telling anyone and everyone you pay what you get a reliable well built top of the line product.
