The wire itself is too thin to be considered a real lightning abate. I substituted a some #10 wire. Also, improvised to attach wire to antenna mast, I just drilled a small hole (to make using self-tapping screw easier) and used a self-tapping screw and wrapped the ground-wire around it. The clamp was excellent, fit my existing ground rod perfectly, and good quality.
