Lowers voltage way too loe to operate devices. Did not work with any of my portable devices or even powered ones that need some voltage signal to operate

The USB isolator really works to separate the computer noise from the MIDI 8X1, which leaks the noise into analog audio path of the connected gear. And the power converter seems beefy enough to power the MIDI 8X1 box. Regarding use with the ADC, people concerned about the transformers in the isolator affecting the audio signal frequency response don't understand digital vs analog signals. The transformer circuits in the device move the signal in the digital domain, not analog, so there is no effect on audio quality because the digital data passing across the isolator is converted to analog back in the computer (or in the box on the way out to the monitors.
