A few years back, Mr. P., as we affectionately call the founder of our little Greenville, N.C., company, was traveling along the coast of his beloved Brazil when he spied something intriguing in one of the local markets there: Wide-brimmed hats handcrafted out of wonderfully weathered old cotton canvas, with heavy stitching, shifts in color, fraying, stains, rips, punctures, patches and even occasional ink marks. Mr. P. immediately began inquiring about the unusual hats, learning that their material was actually old canvas tarps discarded by Brazilian trucking companies after lengthy use as protection for freight. A romantic in the broadest sense of the word, Mr. P. was instantly as hooked by the story as he had been by the hats themselves.

This is my third original. It’s the best hat I’ve ever owned. Durable, rugged and I get a lot of comments on it. On hot days I may soak it with (translated “fill) it with water before putting it back on. Retains its shape even after some abuse.

I already owned one of these, but it was too tight. I recommend ordering a size up for safety. However - these things are magnificent. They look and feel amazing, wonderfully durable, perfect for any activity in the sun, couldn’t have a higher recommendation. Fantastic product, will definitely buy more in the future.

I am on my fourth. Bought my first one in 2011, shaped it. Loved it. Bought a second one a couple months later, shaped it differently, wrote it every day. Everyone I know associates me with my "Adventure Hat." Even made Facebook and Instagram pages for it. The first one I gifted to a friend who dressed as me for Halloween one year. The second was on my head every day, all day for almost for years before it finally meet its traffic end. Now, torn and tattered, the OG adventure hat sits in a place of honor in my home. The third was stolen from the saddle bag of my bike a couple of months after I bought it. So now I'm wearing number four...which I've had for about two years now. It is THE HAT for me!

I used to worry about getting my good hats “messed up” I don’t have to worry with this one as stains add character. I have it paired with the coconut shell hat band and wear it religiously. Now I just need to pick up the Blanco!

Love the product. I have the original and use almost daily on the farm in the summer and it has held up for about 4 years now. I have taken all over the world with me wherever I go from desert to the hills of Tennessee. I bought the new one for the girlfriend because She kept wearing mine. I am jealous of hers due to a wider brim. I have also bought the floppy hat in a large but it is to big on my head so I don’t wear as much. So if your reading this and have one of the originals go with a size smaller on the floppy hat. Great product thank you for that. The pic is of the original from 4 years ago.

Love the product. My head size is about 71/4. I found the medium in the original to be too small and large to fit just right. The floppy hat I would go with the medium. I found that the floppy large was to big for my head. That was the only issue that I have had any problem with. These hats hold up to any situation you might throw at it. They are true canvas materials and hold up to the pounding of the hot farming work life. True life saver in my opinion.

I was introduced to this hat about 10 years ago. And picked one up, It is by far my favorite hat ever and wear it ever day. Its great while camping or on the river. I have had to repair it here and there but I think it adds even more Character.
