In the nineties we were an outdoor education and activity provider and the shop was a sideline event selling spares for bikes and a few bushcraft knives. In the noughties the shop became a standalone venture with a growing reputation for providing quality kit and professional advice. Now we have hung up our instructor shoes to focus on providing some of the best and most respected outdoor brands and products to our customers near and far. This is an EXCELLENT little axe that seems to punch far above its weight. Good grip and nicely balanced - a joy for basic camp fire needs and easy to manage for a spot of roughing out blanks for carving too. Very glad I bit the bullet and went for it. Great service from Proadventure too, thanks! Highly recommended!

I wanted a small axe for carving/whittling. While the two carving hatchets have nice handles i found the shorter handle on the small hatchet to be a better size but i prefer the weight of the head on the large hatchet. While the handle on this isnt quite ideal as its a bit thin near the base, this is a better compromise for me giving the heavier head on a shorter handle. It also means that if i do decide to go for a hatchet with a larger handle, i can go for the large carving hatchet, (as someone once said, you can never have too many axes!). This was delivered promptly and well packaged so really pleased with the support i had from the store. Many thanks.

Beautifully balanced compact Hatchet.lovely weight.Leather Sheath fits snuggly, with a good internal blade protection. Strap with snap catch works and very comfortable. Haft with grippy roughened finish

Its a cracking little axe, beautifully weighted and balanced and razor sharp. Its extremely well made, just the feel of it you know its quality. I make small rustic garden tables out of sweet chestnut from our woodland and Ive just used this axe to carve a table top. The sharpness allows me to remove the finest of shavings when I hold it right up at the head, and whilst I hadnt intended using this as a carver, the effect Im able to achieve is amazing. Im sure that I will be purchasing other tools in the Gransfors range in future. Whilst they are expensive theyre also top quality judging by my hand hatchet.

Bought for my grandsons 18th next month so can't really say much about it other than it looks and feels like a very well made axe. As he's very much into the outdoors I'm sure that he will get many years use and enjoyment out of it.
