We lived in Seattle at the time and couldn't take the dog out for each potty because of the rainy weather. Our grass didn't properly drain so it was always pretty soggy and muddy. We built a covered potty area on our porch and used the synthetic grass. I've looked at other synthetic grasses and they are extremely inferior to Porch Potty's product. The main difference is the holes at the bottom. Porch Potty makes them larger so more liquid can funnel through. It's a genius method and one we are so grateful for.

I prefer the synthetic grass because it isn't messy. We now live in Spokane which offers a different weather challenge.....snow. We also live in an area that is less populated and has an abundance of wild life (bears, coyotes, mt. lions etc...). Our dog wouldn't stand a chance if we let her out. So we built another potty area in our garage and we can simply spray off the porch potty anytime we want. It's perfect!!!!

The grass itself is good. Does not last long though even with proper maintenance. I clean mine frequently and let it air dry but it still smells and I have even noticed maggots in the turf. Very gross

I bought my porch potty five years ago and love it. My pooch knows exactly where to go to "use the bathroom". It's easy to clean up; just follow the instructions. Mine is on my patio.

While I am not sure it is entirely avoidable, it has been sooo hard to keep this item from smelling. I live in a spot where I don’t have a drain… therefore I have to prettt much dump the basin every day to avoid overflow (from water rinsing)… I’ve used their cleaning products, got new grass, everything. Unfortunately it still smells.

Delivery and customer service has been great, but the product itself I am not so sure about... especially for the price. I would have thought there would be better drainage for pee, as I clean my porch potty throughly and regularly (with boiling water even) and it still smells. I've bought products and new grass, etc... still smells.
