Find a new shipper for freight

Came broken twice. Final Indoor unit doesn't swing vent.

I got a 9k unit of Amazon prev. It works great. I figured I'd get a bigger unit for another place, it was shipped truck freight, came broken... twice. When I finally got all the pieces, the indoor unit's swing function doesn't work.

Total noob, installed with 33' line set and added extra refrigerant.

Installed system with 33' line set. As the system only has enough charge for 25' or less line set, needed to add R410a. Never did any of this before. Besides this, bought a vacuum pump with manifold gauge set, some RT201B sealant for the flare fittings, some condensation drain hose (as what's included is not nearly long enough) , a refrigerant digital scale and a 5lb can of refrigerant. Following the instructions in the installation manual included was able to easily install the system. Instructions on how to connect the manifold/refrigerant tank and add refrigerant to the system are in the Series Service Manual pdf available on the website's product page. That was also relatively easy. I already had electrical ran to an old mini-split from the previous owner that died years ago, so I used that, or I would have also needed a sub-panel disconnect box, conduit and connector kit and some electrical wiring. I also had a 3" hole saw, so that didn't need to be purchased. Just listing these things in case someone is looking for what accessories are needed beyond the kit. I put some of the sealant on the flare fittings and tightened per the instructions but did not use a torque wrench. You probably should, and I do have one, but I tightened with regular wrenches without over-tightening to damage the connectors, to each their own. One thing to note if you are looking to buy a vacuum pump is a 4.5 CFM one works very well, it vacuumed out the 33' set of lines within a minute or two. I would recommend this kit as it's well put together and a great price. This unit is for our living room/dining room/kitchen space, and I plan on buying a multi-zone unit with 8k BTU indoor units for the three bedrooms at some point. We were running a 10k BTU window unit prior to this that uses about as much electricity that could never keep up, this thing just cranks out the cold air. ;)

Why Trust Verified Reviews?

Verified Reviews are real, authentic reviews collected from actual paying customers, using Shopper Approved's Verified Review Platform. When reviews are Verified by Shopper Approved, you know that you can trust them to make better buying decisions.

Unverified Reviews on the other hand, are reviews collected by Open Review platforms that allow anyone to leave a review, without any validation or proof of purchase. Unfortunately, most reviews you read online are Unverified Reviews, and can't be trusted.

As a consumer, here's how you can tell the difference:

Verified Reviews from Verified Review Platforms like Shopper Approved, have much higher review counts and higher overall Star ratings, because they attempt to collect reviews from every single paying customer.

Unverified Reviews from Open Review Platforms, tend to have much lower review counts and more negative Star ratings, because people with bad experiences are primarily those who leave reviews. This often creates a misleading, inaccurate portrayal of a companies true reputation.

So, when searching for Verified Reviews, look for the name you know you can trust. Shopper Approved.
