the product is very good - beautiful and true to the on line picture and description. There were some small scratches on the legs and I contacted Modern Furniture. It took a bit of time but I am now satisfied with the resolution.

The checkout process was difficult. Primary address was not accepted as a shipping address so same address needed to be added as a shipping address. Credit card auto fill did not enter the expiry date the way your check out process wanted. It was confusing and irritating. The shipping information was confusing, you needed to know that the codes were. It kept changing date of 'expected' delivery. Frustrating system.

Since we cannot ship furniture to P.O. Boxes, our website will not accept them as a shipping address. We do, however, accept them as a billing address. After reading your feedback, we noticed that the required format can be sometimes be confusing since some card issuers require it to be entered as "Box 123" rather than "P.O. Box 123". We have addressed this by adding a hint on the payment page of our checkout process to help out future customers.
We also understand that tracking information provided by courier companies can sometimes be a bit confusing as updates are added in realtime, while the item is in transit.

I am very disturbed that there was absolutely no personal touch relating to my dealings with Modern Furniture. I ordered 8 dining chairs for someone that I was doing a favor for. They cancelled the chairs and I notified Modern immediately. I was too late and the chairs were delivered. I contacted Modern to take them back and they wound up charging me a 20% restocking charge plus a delivery fee. It came out to over $600 for chairs that were never opened and returned a few days later. Absolutely ridiculous and I will never use them again and let people know about this highway robbery !

We are usually able to cancel orders before they are processed and shipped. However, by the time you requested an order cancellation, the items had already been shipped and were already out for delivery. Since the 8 chairs you ordered had to be shipped back to us, return shipping did apply. Following our many exchanges with you to the effect that you did not need the chairs, we were surprised to receive chairs that had been unboxed before being sent back, which is why restocking fees had to be applied.
Unfortunately, despite our best efforts to try to help you, ordering 8 expensive chairs, trying to cancel the order when tracking indicates that they are out for delivery, and sending back open boxes does have implications which we carefully explained when you first contacted us. We go to great length to help our customers as much as possible but there are certain situations, such as this one, in which no resolution can be perfect.
