I recently purchased the Islander Brookville 38mm watch with blue dial, and to say that I'm impressed is an understatement. I've been an avid watch collector for several years, focusing on brands such as Oris, Mido and Hamilton. My previous experience with microbrands has been lackluster -- until now. Wow, what an incredible timepiece! The case quality, clean dial and exceptional accuracy have far exceeded my expectations. I don't know if you regulate each Islander watch before it leaves the store, but my 9015 Miyota is ticking at +/- 2 seconds a day. Perhaps I was just lucky with that particular movement; however, the watch has rarely left my wrist in the past week. Thanks for providing such bang for the buck, and for a watch that I don't have to worry about regulating (which can be a real chore up here in Alaska).

When other reviews say that the pictures don't do it justice, they are telling the truth. The watch is beautiful! The fit and finish is near flawless, the dimensions are right on the sweet spot for my 6.5" wrist. The dial transforms from a deep blue in low light to a steel blue in natural light. If you need a watch that ends your collection, get this and a leather strap and that's it. Great for the office, formal occasions, or just going out. Cannot recommend this watch, ISL-38, and Long Island Watch enough.

The size is perfect for my 6.25 inch wrist.I is very comfortable on the wrist and the dial colour is great, just pure class nothing too flashy.the bracelet is great and so is the clasp.I just regret the bracelet doesn't come with female endlinks.

This my 4th islander watch purchase and have had excellent customer service each time. The blue isl-38 looks and performs like a watch at many times its price. The dial color is just the right shade of blue and the dial symmetry is perfect with the date at 6. The bracelet is comfortable and easy to size. This watch is a great value and a pleasure to wear.

Mark performed a recent "makeover" of this watch, going from a fluted to smooth bezel and from a Jubilee to Oyster style bracelet while moving the date window from 3 to 6 o'clock and framing the date in a silver surround. The resulting watch is more comfortable to wear and easier to look at - not that the old version was bad - it was quite good - I have one and wear it frequently. The very handsome blue starburst face is now very symmetrical, with the double baton ("Kit-Kat") 12 o'clock marker and Islander clock logo at the top being perfectly balanced at 6 o'clock by the "Automatic" logo and framed date at the bottom. The watch retains the excellent Miyota 9015 movement, which in my watch runs 1-3 seconds per day fast - excellent, and nearly scratchproof sapphire front and back crystals. While I felt the need to replace the somewhat itchy Jubilee bracelet on the old ISL-38 with a 3rd party blue leather strap, I'm VERY happy with the look and feel of the NEW ISL-38, just as it is. Do I need TWO ISL-38s? Nope. But then these two versions, one on a strap and one on a bracelet and with different face appointments and bezels look very different on the wrist. Both look great and keep excellent time. The old ISL-38/blue leather strap has a relaxed "chic" look while the new ISL-38 is more of a no-nonsense sports watch that's absolutely safe to swim with, due to its sealing/screw-down crown and stainless steel bracelet. But either works fine when boating OR under a cuffed sleeve and jacket in the boardroom. Great evolution, Mark! Keep 'em coming. And let's see more of the Miyota 9015 movements - they're great performers.

Watches are essentially kinetic jewelry, and people who like to wear well-crafted pieces of art and engineering rolled into one will appreciate the well-priced watches offered by Long Island Watch. I do. It's an emotional thing. Six so far, and counting. It helps that Mark is an engineer himself, has an excellent eye for function, looks and quality, and an ear for his customer's needs and desires. At this point LIS products are getting more daily wrist time than my Swiss timepieces.

This Islander Brookville Blue Dial is really sweet! It's similar to a Rolex OP or Omega Aqua Terra. Really well made, has Solita movement, and screws in the links! I will order the Salmon when it's available.

The watch was exactly as I hoped for and wears a little smaller than I might have expected. It fits my seven inch wrist perfectly. The movement came running six seconds slow per day but I have been able to easily adjust it to plus two seconds per day. The band was also very easy to adjust with the included screwdriver. I needed to remove three links to make it fit properly

This watch looks very similar to the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra blue dial, which I assume is not an accident. The dial and movement finishing on the Omega are noticeably better but not so much better to justify the enormous price differential. I proudly wear this watch several times a week and love it’s look and feel. My only complaint is that the bracelet was very hard to adjust, requiring me to shuffle the links when a couple of the screws would not loosen after many attempts — frustrating experience. However, once adjusted the bracelet is comfortable even in very hot and humid weather.

I got several server errors during the process after selecting PayPal, which was a bit disappointing but still got to get to the card via traditional credit card payment. Marc got back to me promptly when I had trouble adjusting the bracelet, but the experience was still frustrating. The manual and video should be much more specific about what needs to be done to change the bracelet. While watch geeks might see this as par for the course, as a modern post-sales experience it was far less pleasant than buying, say, an Apple Watch. I'm not trying to complain here, but just express what it feels like from an ordinary consumer's point of view. I wish the best for this family business!

Outstanding timepiece. The 9015 movement runs +1 spd. This is much better value than watches 3x the price. Very comfortable on the wrist. Anybody interested should just buy it. Won’t be disappointed

Incredible quick response from Marc. Ordered instantly! Great service and amazing quality of the watch ! PS - FedEx was great to bring it across the Pacific in a matter of 2-3 days. Only hiccup was Local couriers ; with low staff etc ; there were major delays so I had to call in to pick up item myself from the local courier depot ) Also, a note to the LIW team; maybe bubble wrap the courier box as the local couriers just tend to be less careful.

This one has exactly the features I look for. Blue dial, smooth bezel. "O" bracelet. I also love the sapphire crystal and the 100M water resistance with screw-down crown. A great combination of classic looks with rugged "tool-watch" qualities.
