Second purchase from LI. Watch is beautiful and I still stand by the fact that LI is the best bang for buck. This watch left me wanting in the finish department. The bracelet has some obvious finish issues. Overall I am pleased but I find this is not up to the standard I’ve come to expect from LI. I also observed some debris between the bezel and crystal, but fortunately, I think I was able to remove it.

Shipping was surprisingly long this time around. I've ordered watches from Germany what got here faster. That unto itself isn't an issue. I was just surprised by the quality of the watch bracelet. It was nowhere near the level of my Long Island 38mm Pogue homage.

I'm very happy that the website lets you navigate by style and size. I am a small woman but love the diver and chronograph watches. I had been disappointed that they are only for men and came in big 43-45 mm size which is way too big. But 38-40 mm are perfect

This is a great watch, with design details and build quality like that of watches that cost much more. The only reason I can't give it five stars is because the lume on the hands is much weaker than the lume on the hour markers. Therefore, I've often been unable to read the time, even when the hour markers are still shining brightly. I know that this is an issue with the model and not with my specific unit, because you can clearly see the lume discrepancy in the lume shot that Marc included in his YouTube video announcing the Bayports. I think that, ideally, the lume on the hands and the hour markers should be the same. But if you have to choose to make one last longer, then you should obviously pick to make the lume on the hands last longer. You can easily tell time as long as you can see the hands, even if all the hour markers have gone dark. I hope Marc fixes this in future batches and, if he does so, I hope he would offer older Bayport customers an option to pay to have our hands upgraded to ones with better lume.

This is my first islander watch and I am thoroughly impressed. I promised myself if Marc ever made an Islander that wasn't based off an SKX, I would have to buy one just off of everything he's done for the community. I own a couple watches from very notable micro brands and where they were able to offer the same value they were able to execute the quality of this watch. Everything on this watch operated smoothly and was aligned to the best of my knowledge. Finally the over design of this watch is refreshing and elegant. The polished chamfer is wat sold it for me as well as the mixed finishing on the hands. If you've been on the fence about getting an islander I would definitely recommend this watch.

The Bayport has a great spec sheet, which makes it a value. But it's also a beauty, with that gorgeous pie-pan style blue dial. Nice that it's a truly original design.
