Great field watch. Perfect size, excellent lume, automatic movement, date complication, screw down crown, 100 meters water resistance, 20 mm lugs for easy swap out of straps, solid feel. I switched out the strap with a fabric strap, since I work outside in the elements.

The quality of this watch when seen in person exceeds on-line photos and videos. It is very well-made and elegant timepiece, and the feel of the hand-winding and screw-down crown simply scream precision manufacturing. Movement accuracy is so far between +3 and -2 seconds per day, depending upon position. The step is too small for my nine-inch wrist, but Marc warned me of this before I ordered. The watch is particularly easy to read. I am quite satisfied.

Hard to beat this watch for the price. Solid movement, sapphire crystal, decent lume, and a clean look. My only real nitpick would be that the date window is spaced slightly too far to the right, which crowds the first digit once the month enters the teens. So far it's running about +12sec/week, which I'm very happy with. I'd happily recommend this watch to anyone.

I love the look of this watch, and especially like the addition of lume to the numerals. That being said, the strap is terrible, so I switched it out immediately. The biggest complaint I have with this watch is that it loses 46 seconds a day. After some fiddling, I have it down to less than -10 seconds a day.

After researching for days for a great value field watch I stumbled upon the ISL-41 and what can I say, this knocks it out of the park! It's been said a million times but this is truly THE BEST field watch you can buy for the price. Compared to the highly sought after Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical this beats it out in a few categories. The ISL-41 has AR coating under the sapphire Crystal, SuperLuminova on hour and minute hands, a see through case back (always a nice addition), automatic movement and screw down crown with 100m WR. Most other field watched will omit some if not all of these features yet charge consumers sometimes more than double what the ISL-41 costs. I understand wanting a timepiece with lots of heritage but at a certain point you have to really see if that heritage is really worth the price of the timepiece. For me you can't beat the specs-for-price value of the Islander and it's a looker to boot. If you're hesitant on pulling the trigger I truly believe you should go for it, it's worth every penny.

I've been welding in this watch for 6 months. It's been around high amperage, high heat, heavy impacts and rough vibrations every single day. Welding bb's(small balls of molten metal) have stuck into the case in a few spots(bcuz it's metal) but not a single one on the sapphire. They stick all over my iPhone screen. The sapphire doesn't have a single scratch. It takes hours of hammer, sledgehammer, and chipping hammer impacts, every week, better than my body ha. It takes hours of 6in grinder vibrations everyday. My hands are numb while the watch keeps ticking. It's also around all kinds of magnets and magnetic fields. But the real pull is the watch is so sexy. It takes about 3 weeks to break in the strap. It's very uncomfortable as the band forms to your wrist. But after that it is custom formed to your wrist! I haven't taken it off in the last 2 months. Sleep with it on every night. It loses about 30 seconds per month.

I was introduced to Marc & Long Island Watch via The Urban Gentry YT channel (TGV). This is my first field watch. I love it so far and I'm sure the love will continue. I truly enjoy the style and heft of the watch. The only thing that I have to get used to is making sure that I move around enough to keep the watch "wound." Fast shipping and watch was well-packaged. Happy Birthday to me! I've worn this watch for 2 long days and so far I love it. It seems substantial without being heavy. It wears a little smaller than 39 mm but I'm just used to bigger watches I think, divers, chronos and my giant Suunto. The lume on the dial is crazy good also. Even my wife who typically doesn't pay a lot of attention to my watches commented that she really liked it.
