Bought this footlocker two years ago. The first year of camp, it handled a trip up and back to Northern California. The second year of camp, it barely made it back in one piece, it had to be duck taped around the whole unit so that the camp could send it back. When I was growing up, I had one trunk that lasted my entire camp career of 10 years. It's a shame that products are no longer built in the same way.

Pros: I recently purchased "The Happy Camper" footlocker and snap on duffle bag for my son's first sleep-a-way camp. I have owned several "store" bought footlockers in the past, during my college days. I must admit, I was very impressed with the quality of the C&N Footlocker! While preparing to pack the footlocker, I observed my daughter sitting it. My immediate reaction was to advise her to get off before she damaged it. After recalling some of the advertising claims, I said move over and I sat on the footlocker, also! In addition, the quality of the footlocker, I was even more impressed with the customer service of C&N. "I" over-stuffed the locker and damaged one of the clamps. I called C&N, to tell them what happened, ... before I could finish my sentence, "Pam" said, "I'll send a replacement out to you right away." I look forward to my son having this footlocker for a long time and will buy one for my daughter next year when she goes to sleep-a-way camp for the first time.

Pros: Sturdy, keeps camp items organized, liner is fantastic, must get the Glide and Go Tray, great colors, great for standing on to climb to upper bunk. Shipping speed was amazing.
\n\nCons: Incredibly heavy and hard to carry, ouch those handles are awful! expensive
\n\nComments: We ordered this trunk the Sunday before our daughter left for camp, when the trunk we planned to borrow fell through. It arrived on Thursday, which still gave her plenty of time to enjoy the whole packing experience. The trunk is incredibly sturdy, my kids were all jumping up and down on it, to verify that it truly is sturdy. The liner on the inside of the trunk is a really great feature and protects the wood from any damp items. Glide and go tray is a must have. Helps with the organization and keeping messy bathroom items separate in case they leak. Organization of her clothing and accessories was so easy. Other friends had to dig through big duffel bags or suitcases, and she was able to just reach in, like she was going in a dresser drawer. And, she had the top bunk, so it was useful to use for standing on to climb up into the bunk bed. The only problem is that it is really heavy - even empty. We kept the cardboard box to store it in, to keep it from getting all dusty, but that does make it harder to lug up into the attic. And, the handles really really hurt my hands when I was helping her carry it. We did not opt to get the wheels, because the reviews were mixed - and after going to her camp, I don\'t think they would have been much help, and might even have gotten lost. But, I still might consider them for next year, since my knuckles hurt just thinking back to carrying the fully loaded trunk! All-in-all, extremely satisfied with this purchase and I know that it will last for many more years of camping!

These new handles are wider and allow you to carry the trunk closer to your body if you are carrying the trunk by yourself. If you have one person on each end our new handles allow people to get both hands into the handle (the old handles only fit one hand). This trunk is great! My daughter's third trunk for camp. Compared to her previous trunks it's sturdy, larger and easier to carry. The colors are great. She has the mint one. Perfect for camp and planning to take it to college for storage and to use as a "table".

This trunk is really nice in that it seems very sturdy because of what the outside is made of, and there is a large variety in the color choices. It makes it very nice to be able to choose one that really suits you

I purchased my first footlocker from Everything SummerCamp 5 years ago for one of my daughters to use for extra storage at college. I am happy to say that it is still in excellent condition after much use. So when another daughter just had to have one in pink, I was glad to see that Everything SummerCamp had the color. There was no need to search anywhere else! I knew I would be getting a quality product for a reasonable price. Don't forget to add on the storage tray that fits and slides so nicely. It is a nice feature.

The trunk is sturdy and relatively light for a footlocker, but unfortunately has no wheels like other trunks I have seen. This makes it hard to transport.

I was very impressed with the high quality of this footlocker. It is heavy (prob due to quality of materials) so highly recommend adding the wheels. Wheel holders where welded into the trunk - nice touch! Extremely fast delivery and wonderful, accurate updates via email.

This trunk is well-made and heavy duty. I turned down buying some trunks that were almost this price, but mom's were reporting that they fell apart on the first camp experience. The lid stays up nice. I forgot to order the nameplate the first time and I'm glad I added that. The lid organizer is a real must for this trunk, it is awesome. My son had it all organized!

I ordered this trunk for my son to take to camp. Really sturdy with strong handles. The navy was a bit sparkly for my taste but my son was happy with it. Ordered his camp logo for the top of the trunk and it looks great.

I purchased this camp trunk after a friend recommended the website and their products. I had been searching for a camp trunk for my son for a couple of months with no luck. We visited big-box discount stores, sporting goods stoes, and numerous websites. All of the trunks we were able to look at in stores appeared to be poorly constructed and did not look like they would hold up to more than one use. When my friend recommended Everything summer camp, I asked lots of questions regarding the construction, size, durability, etc. My son wanted to have his trunk personalized with his favorite college football team, Baylor Bears, so he was thrilled we could order one that was already green. We received the trunk quickly after ordering and it looked excellent. Well constructed and the wheels were easy to put on and take off the trunk. It held everything he needed for a week-long camp and would have held even more. It has certainly been an excellent investment and I would recommend to anyone.

This is actually the second one of these trunks I have purchased. I am not replacing the first one, I am buying another for my second son. The first one has lasted with just a few surface scratches through 5 years of a 3 week summer camp with my first son. It has been used not only to haul clothes, linens and other camp essentials, but has been used as a landing pad from the top bunk, a step (to get into the top bunk) a games table and countless other abuses that a cabin full of little boys (and not so little counselors) can perform. It has come through with a couple of little scratches in the finish, surprisingly few, in fact, but still the same sturdy well constructed piece of luggage/furniture/stage/imagination station that just showed up in another color on our front doorstep. This is a piece that I can see lasting from Kindergarten through the college days. Yes, you could buy a $70 trunk and replace it every year or two, or you could buy this and let your campers take it on all of their adventures to adulthood.

This product was purchased for our granddaughter to use when she goes to camp in Maine. Her older sister has one and really likes it. We only wish there was a way you could have embossed her name on this lovely orange trunk. Otherwise we think it's great there is a place to shop for all camping needs - it beats trekking around from store to store. Thanks!
