It was perfect for his dorm. It did require some tools to put together though. The tool that came with the shelf broke very easily.

This is a good accessory for the dorm room. It didn't fit completely on the desk in the dorm room but the gap allowed for plugs to hang easily and still stayed sturdy on the desktop.
