Convenient location, local business, and good selection of bikes.
A sound consultation with, and good advice from Paul determined my purchase of a Marlin6 which was got and prepared much sooner than expected. And then Enrique's comprehensive handover procedure before they let me go.
I was back 2 days later with my daughter, and with Keith's help and patience, we placed an order for 2 Powerfly FS4 EQ e-bikes, with delivery due early next year. Keith and Paul were very generous with additional add-ons and purchase.
Criterium is a super place to go for all things bikes.

I did not have a good experience in trying to buy a new bike from another bike shop (Evans). I was buying through the bike to work scheme. A colleague advised me to go to criterium cycles who he highly recommended. Everyone was very helpful and bent over backwards to help me get the bike I wanted. The service was faultless. The shop incredible. Everything went according to plan. I am now the proud owner of a Trek bike. I would not go anywhere else if I need to have my bike repaired or maintained. I have told many friends and colleagues that Criterium is the place to go if they are thinking of buying a bike.

Paul and Rosie gave their time and experience to make sure we received what we needed now and in future. Completely different to another Trek stockist in Edinburgh!
On their recommendation we moved one
bike onto a tubeless configuration that has enhanced the riding experience and provided enhanced peace of mind.
The other bike was tubeless on delivery.

We checked out various bike web sites before visiting Criterium Cycles. Having watched Paul as he measured Rosie for a bike I carried out the measurements and presented them to Paul. He questioned her on how confident she was a rider and then decided which mountain bike suited her. He did not try to upsell her a more expensive bike and had her test drive her bike round the car park to ensure she was happy. On the day to pick up the bike he helped remove the tyres and place in the car. An overall excellent experience.

We received excellent advice, we were not hurried with our purchase and the after sales service was excellent. The staff were all very friendly and competent.

I was looking around for a bike at the height of the Covid pandemic, when bikes were a scarce commodity due to both demand and production, I tried several retailers but none had a bike that I wanted in stock, or couldn't guarantee a delivery date, fortunately Criterium did have one, the Trek fx3, which, although wasn't my first choice, I did buy, and what a bike, brilliant absolutely no regrets, love it.

As for the service, definitely 5 star, attention to detail in every aspect, 100% happy with everything, I have been back to the shop a couple of times for little extras to add to the bike and I am always met with attentive service and choice of product.

I checked out the bikes available online before going to the shop. The bike I was interested in was in the shop and after some measurements my size was in stock. The shop assistant was very thorough and helpful. Even got to ride the bike round the car park to ensure the seat height was correct.

As my bike was in stock I was able to take home that day. I passed on the service to friends and as a result they too went and bought bikes for the family too.

Overall I had a great experience shopping at Criterium. My partner and I both bought TREK e-bikes. We were given a detailed overview of the bikes and relevant accesories. The delivery timing was accurate and the home delivery service was very convenient. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Special thanks to Keith and Paul who dealt with us during very busy times. I haven't had to use their workshop yet, but they service bikes that they have sold, which is reassuring if something was to go wrong. Highly recommended!

Having been looking around for a full suspension trail bike, it became clear through watching the joint podcast with Criterium Cycles and Petrol Ped, that they had stock of Trek bikes and would be worth investigating.
As Paul (co-owner of Criterium) soon realised from our email conversations, that Trek wouldn't have been my first choice, and there were compromises on both the colour (I'm a tart about my colours) and the groupset (would have preferred the XT version, but sometimes you have to compromise right)?
Ignoring all that, and just itching to get the bike, I made the purchase.

One of the great things about Criterium is their free delivery (over a certain value) and I made use of this facility. The communication was very good regarding delivery date and time, and Richard duly appeared on the stated day and on time.
He gave a very personal handover of the bike, (which I have to say looked huge, and the colours were awesome) and ran through various things I should know.
All in all it has been a pleasure dealing with Paul and Richard, and made the whole experience very enjoyable.
As a PS, the bike majorly flatters my riding, at 56 and I'd say cautious in my riding style, I've gained a load of Strava segment pb's!
I would recommend a Trek Fuel - it's a cracker.
