Chassis is awesome for what it is. Unfortunately, I can't read and got a 300mm (12 inch deep) chassis when I was looking for something closer to 18" deep. Unfortunately, those don't seem to exist. I'll be getting the 350mm deep 2U chassis and trying to fit everything in that. If the 2U is as good as the 1U, I should be very happy.

It's a basic 1U enclosure. It's mechanically solid for its weight but offers no frills on the surface treatment (black spray paint) and there are exposed screws in less visible areas (on the back). There are rather careless tooling marks (presumably from a milling operation) on the inside of the front panel, but they are functionally and esthetically completely inconsequential. They simply serve as a proof that it is a low-cost product and that's why I am giving it only four stars. On the whole this enclosure is very useful for R&D and in-house use, even though I wouldn't ship it to customers. Should the need arise, I will certainly buy this product, again.

It's a decent chassis at a great price. The bigger units have a steel backplate. The construction isn't the most ideal but it's workable usually.
