1) By using this generic (pitavastatin) of the brand name medication (Livalo) I avoid the muscle pains that have accompanied my use of several other statins. I no longer have to take "statin holidays". 2) This generic medication provides me the same level of therapy as the brand name medication. This is proven by years of use and consistent lab results. 3) In the U.S. the generic version is not available and the brand name is not on any insurors' formulary that I can find, so a 90 day supply of the brand name medication would cost me, out of pocket, well over US$ 1,000.00. Through Canada Pharmacy online I obtain a 100 day supply for US$83.00 + US$10.00 shipping - US$93.00 total.
