Bought this because we have 1 of our cats with prescription food that our 2 other cats love to steal. The concept is good but execution is terrible. The feeder stays open way too long even after our chipped cat leaves. Sometimes it won't even close until we remove the food thieves. We really wanted this to work but it's been a huge disappointment.

I waited a year to review this product. I was reminded to do so since I just changed the batteries for the first time. The first product I received broke within a couple weeks but customer service was great and sent a replacement quickly. That one has worked great for a year. It does its job. It’s never locked the correct cat out. It was easy to figure out and train. My cat took to it immediately. I can see how a super skittish pet may have difficulty with it but luckily that is not my cats. I do wish it had a side guard. I had to place in a corner and have a small trash can blocking the other side so fat cat doesn’t squeeze in. I also paid way more than the current listed price so it’s a great deal now.

This is my 3rd microchip feeder, I'm hooked these are great. I have 3 cats, one is a kitten, so great to know the big brothers won't be chowing down on her higher calorie kitten food. I had so much trouble finding the 3rd feeder, but Valley vet came through for me, so great to deal with and quick shipping.

We have two cats - one that grazes (Bella), one that will eat everything he can get to (Rocket). We bought the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder for our grazer in April, 2022. It worked great, then didn't. Around mid-Dec, 2022, I found the Bella's bowl completely empty in the middle of the day. After watching for the rest of the day, we realized that the lid was not closing as quickly - it was closing slow enough that Rocket had enough time to get to it. When we first got it, set on the fastest closing mode, it would close almost the minute she backed out of the bowl. Now it stays open long enough for her to back away, walk away, and Rocket to approach and get into the bowl. Once we figured this out, we bought an cover that's 10 inches long to try to give the feeder time to close before Rocket could get to it. That's not enough. There's time for her to get out, and completely leave the room. This isn't working correctly. We contacted Sure Petcare and explained the problem. We were asked to take a video so that they could evaluate the time. Long story, shortened, they would not honor the warranty. They did send us additional "special programming" instructions to put the feeder into intruder mode. We will try that, it may work, but that is not how a warranty should work. There is obviously something wrong with the feeder and it should have been replaced. I'm very disappointed with the feeder and the companies failure to honor the warranty.

It solves a really annoying problem with a lite eater and a glutton. The features on the connect are kind of over the top plus you have to buy a $70 hub. I bought one minus the hub because it was the only model I could find anywhere. Works fine as a basic model. It's a very clever addition to the surepet door and I was really glad to find one at valley pet.
