Josh and his staff are exceptional. The entire process was simple, quick, and painless. The communication was over the top. They provide a step by step organized plan and ensure we were on track to close on time. He was quick to respond to questions and you can tell that it's more than just a loan closing for them. They care about you and want to ensure you are taken care of in the process.

My husband and I jokingly refer to Josh Klenda as our "loan guy" but he honestly is. Josh has closed 3 loans and a refinance for us over the years and we will continue to use him. He's always on top of everything and responds to all questions very quickly. With frequent moves due to work, it's alway nice to be able to say "we've got a guy for that" and not have to worry about loan processing, etc.

I initially called for a quote for a jumbo VA mortgage. The rate seemed good. I checked around and had the impression that I could get a better rate with Quicken Loans. Quicken had a great experience and efficient set up, and I started the process with them. Josh Klenda with Community First contacted me on a follow-up and I listened long enough to find out I might not be getting the best deal at Quicken after all. The origination fee of 1.00% with Quicken was costing me thousands more than the $995 origination fee I paid with Community First. Secondly, they were able to buy my rate down to the same as Quicken for .45 points, versus 2.00 points with Quicken. That saved me thousands more. Besides that, the deals were exactly the same, except I was saving thousands by switching to Community First. So lesson learned, ask about the cost of the origination, ask about the cost of points to buy down the loan, and compare the loan estimates side-by-side to see what deal you are really getting. A little education along the way on simple numbers saved me a lot of money. The entire experience at Community First was first rate in every way. Working with Josh Klenda was as easy as it gets, he is a very sharp and talented loan officer. The best in the business.

Josh was very informative on his assessment for our loan. He was detailed in all aspects of our loan process. He communicated very well either e-mail, phone or text messages to make sure we had all the information we needed to to complete our refinance loan. As a veteran he was very respectful with me in regards to my military service. No other bank that we called would do the refinance loan like they did. Electronic signatures was quick and easy and made the loan process very easy. I came to Smart VA Loans after a bad experience with Quicken Loans. I was actually turned down because the seller had several late payments on his loan. Excuse me, but I thought my credit history determined my loan worthiness, not the seller's credit history!!!! Quicken Loans application process caused a delay in taking position of our home.

Just in time, in rides Josh Klenda of Community First National Bank and saves our loan process. Although we had already wasted approximately a month with Quicken, Josh was able to reuse much of the paperwork and submittals we had provided to Quicken for our new loan application. Community First was even able to beat Quicken Loan's interest rate by 0.49%. With a new rate of 3.5% fixed for 30 year mortgage, we are very well pleased with our Smart VA Loan, Community 1st National Bank, and our loan specialist Josh Klenda.

If you are going to do business with refinancing, look no further! We did the entire process from start to finish through emails and faxes. Our lender that I have banked with for 17 years wouldnt give us a penny and this institution stepped up allowing us to refinance and for only 25 dollars a month more than what we were already paying! I can now have my dream kitchen and less debt! Josh Klenda was excellent!
