I am a senior technical writer and a self-taught Python programmer. This book will be the nineth Python book addition to my library of Python books. In this book the author will explain, 63 ‘How to…’ programming techniques that cover the following topics: ‘Using Built-in Data Models’, ‘Defining Functions and Classes’, ‘Manipulating Objects and Files’ and ‘Safeguarding the Codebase’. He finishes with a project where you will build a web application in a virtual environment using Visual Studio Code (VSC). PROs: If you are a person who enjoys reading text, this is the ‘Python How to…’ book for you. The author covers each of the 63 programming techniques along with code examples of each topic. He then walks you through a project that creates a virtual web app in exceptional detail. CONs: Personally, I like more graphics and images.

Useful Book. I expected a gimmick list, but this book is more. Examples are posed within a logical framework using Assertions that illustrate why examples work, not just how. The Author is extremely knowledgeable of Python, and uses features that I am unfamiliar with to do useful things. Python has some very deep features that are not just decorative, but useful and elegant.

I am an old guy,who needs paper books and pencils to learn. I can read an eBook, and learn - but I need a paper book in a textbook stand to test examples.

This book provides an overview of the Python programming language at a beginner to intermediate level. It would be advisable for people who are learning from scratch to read a more basic book before starting with this one. I liked the author's treatment of the learning context for someone who is still in the early stages of their journey with Python, I think it is very helpful, especially for those who are considering learning on their own. In this sense, some relationships with web development frameworks, data science and machine learning libraries are shown. This can serve as a guide to establish ramifications and new training paths for the reader. In short, it is a book that I would for example feel confident recommending to my undergraduate computer science students, and to anyone who has a grasp of the fundamental syntax and usage of Python and wants to progress to something more advanced.
