We used to live in California and before that New York. When we moved from NY to California we found out that despite having driven for half our natural life and having almost zero tickets to speak of, we needed to take a written test to get our California licenses. We did what 90% of people probably do, turned to the Internet and searched Google for "DMV Cheat Sheet California." What we learned, as you have probably learned, is that nothing existed. So at the time, we downloaded the darn manual, spend a few hours reading over the book again, went to the DMV, waited and waited, studied some more and then passed the test. HOURS wasted.
To add salt to the wound we decided, years later, to relocate our product development company to North Carolina only to discover that, once again, we needed to take a written test to get our license! well I realized out of 140 questions you still can get a lot wrong the fact that I went through it a number of times fully prepared me for the final day that I had to take it and I actually aced it!!!. almost like they were throwing me softball questions cuz I knew all the answers. and the lady at the DMV was a little bit astonished that I got them all right

I just took the CA DMV written exam yesterday.I’d say that 90% of the material was on the test.

In my opinion, it is impossible to pass the knowledge driving test without this kind of preperation. I am now alerted to the possibility of multiple answers and missing correct answers. Just reading the latest California Drivers Handbook does not prepare the person being tested for trickey answers.
