First, I should mention this is a prescription for my cat. He has a breathing issue that over the years has cost us close to $20,000. The cat pulmonary specialist at the University of Georgia Veterinary School Hospital recommended this inhaler be used once a day. We filled the prescription, and our cat has not had a breathing episode since. But the problem is this particular inhaler costs about $500 in the US (whether generic or name brand). This is too steep a price for us to handle, especially since our cat is not on our health plan. However, purchasing through Canada Pharmacy, the price is about $37 per inhaler. This is a price we could live with. There are a couple of things to be prepared for. The first is the entire process is extremely slow. The prescription must be sent to the company, an initial client profile needs to be established, money has to be sent in the form of check only (no credit cards), and then you need to place one or more follow-up phone calls to reassure the company you did actually send the check. It took over a month to receive the medication, but we are pleased with the effectiveness of the prescription and the price. As a "work around" to mitigate the abysmal length of time it takes to receive the medication, I now order two inhalers at a time. When I finish the first, I place the reorder. The customer representatives are all very pleasant. They routinely process the order before receiving the payment. I found it is only a relatively minor inconvenience that it takes a couple of toll-free phone calls to inform the company that yes they not only received the check for the prescription two weeks earlier, but also deposited it. One further note - in the US, we are brainwashed to believe any prescribed medication purchased outside of the US could be unsafe for consumption. I believe Canada Pharmacy works with the same reputable pharmaceutical companies as the pharmacies in the US. The only difference is Canada Pharmacy is not subject to price gouging the way US pharmacies are. I believe this is a safe way to purchase lifesaving medication, and I highly recommend them.

Once set up, it's a reliable service with unbeatable prices. It does take a while to receive the medication, so one needs to plan ahead. The only thing I would want to change is the payment process. I send the check, I tell them I sent the check, they receive and deposit the check, and then 2-3 weeks later I get frantic emails and calls asking if I sent the check yet. Relative to receiving payment, it seems like communication within the company needs a little improvement.

Paid $72 for a generic version of an asthma medication that I can't get for much less than $400 in the US (and no generic version is available). This is less than I would pay with insurance, which I don't have anyway. Shipping times are long (which is to be expected), so plan accordingly. Other than that what's not to like?

This is my second purchase from Canada Pharmacy, and so far I've been happy with the service I've received. Not as simple and straightforward as simply going to the website, adding stuff to your shopping cart, and clicking "buy", but this is due to the additional verification that needs to be done before you can ship prescription drugs to the US. Right now you can't pay online with credit/debit cards (due to the high processing cost), but you can give them your checking account info over the phone. Since most of the drugs are shipping from the EU or Asia, be prepared to wait. Still, given the very high drug prices in the US, I wouldn't do business anywhere else.
