Overall it is good. The staff is knowledgeable. I would like more incentive for longtime customers. I plan to do business for a long time, it would be nice if every renewal I wasn't treated like a new customer. I do call in and the staff does try to retain me, but it would be nice if there was something already in place to reward my many years of being a loyal customer and referring others to setup their own accounts. I do not want to join the reseller program. It is not suitable for the type of clients I have.
I have recently had more technical issues which is understandable with technology, however, the turnaround to fix some of the issues is a bit disappointing like the current issue I am deal with with my addon domain and SSL. A ticket was opened which is great, but of little comfort when you are force to delay your plans.
Why HostGator?
I have used it for many years and recommend the business cloud package to my clients. I chose it for the flexibility of the package to scale with a start-up business.

HostGator works well for me as a designer with limited coding skills, using Wordpress. However, the only reason I did not give 5 stars is the customer service. I do t mean the customer service is bad, it's good to have someone there to talk to, but most of the time you're speaking with someone from another country and I continuously have to ask them to repeat themselves.

I was with another web host that had no customer service when I had issues with my Wordpress site. Well they had customer service kinda. If you asked a question they would send you an article. And one day for no reason, my site crashed. I’m sure it was because of a plug-in I used, but to not have anyone to talk to about the problem was the last straw for me.
