The amount of added fees is exorbitant! After the very hefty late fees of almost $50 for being two weeks late, which wasmly fault, there was $66 more of this fee and that fee and on and on. Ridiculous and if this weren't a gov agency they'd never be able to get away with it!

I went to what I thought was the CA DMV site to renew my license. My Fee was supposed to be $165,but when I went to checkout my total was $234.69. This included charges for eTags Service Fee which I did not want but the Web Site did not provide any option so I assumed that the CA DMV now requires eTag Service if you renew Online. It feels like a scam to me.
